kryptoncat: Chell caught Wheatley. Probably with her face. (MAN ALIVE)

I wish Monster High was a real 30 minute episode cartoon; it is just that adorable and I love the idea of monsters just living their lives and trying to fit into society. Although, I didn't personally care for the fashionista thing it has going on when I first started watching it. (This is the nerd in me talking: I mean, I know Mattel is selling these dolls to little girls, but I still think some of these monsters should look scarier/less humaniod, no matter how fashionably they dress!) But now the character designs have grown on me. I'm glad the show helps you feel more comfortable in your own skin. Or lack of, if you are that type of monster. :)

(Ha ha, Frankie and Abbey are both fun characters; I don't even collect dolls but nevertheless they are both on my dresser right now. I will probably buy Heath, too, if they ever get around to making a doll for him.)

I'm with you on this!

I'm an FtM myself, and I ADORE the dolls. I've got two of them on my desk at home, and I think they're just so stupid cute.

After reading the novels (I call them candy books! They're like candy, and refreshing after reading 'meal' type books, which are a little harder to digest, like the Omnivore's Dilema!) I liked them even more.

I wish there was a vampire that looked more like my vampire character. Hee! But, that's why I want a BJD. >.>

I'm talking about this with a friend of mine and we both agree it would be cool if they had more body types (like if they made Abbey more muscular). Personally I was a little bitter when Venus was introduced because I really liked that other plant girl (the one in this episode. They need to make a doll of her.) but she's grown on me (ha.) and my friend really enjoys her because girls with alternative hairstyles aren't usually shown in a positive way.

I think the cartoon is one of the better things for kids out there...it's not perfect, but it's clever and funny and the girls are all intelligent and strongly developed characters. I also like how they handle the romance. Personally I just hope it spawns a generation of girls who are really into horror.

"I'm glad the show helps you feel more comfortable in your own skin. Or lack of, if you are that type of monster. :)"

Thanks, that made me smile the biggest smile! :D
I guess if I were to be a monster I'd be one that could change her appearance from "normal" to "shrill" and vice versa. Like Jackson Jekyll ;)

And I agree on everything else you've said. It would be nice if the monster girls looked more varied. At least they are of different heights in the cartoon.
