yay! This is a good secret and you should feel good. It would be nice if misogyny in fandom could stop being a thing, though that kind of seems a bit impossible right now (mostly because of the scale of fandom as a whole and how young impressionable folk will always be joining and getting right in to the hoyay and falling in to the same cycles of hating all the female characters off the bat). But you never know.

Ugh, no.

There's misogyny in fandom because there's misogyny in society, not because impressionable newbies jump on the hoyay bandwagon. If you sectioned everybody off and only let het and gen and f/f fans come in and play, there would STILL be plenty of misogyny.

yeah this is why I don't like making long comments because then I say dumb things. I know that's not why there's misogyny in fandom. I just think it would be nice if it didn't have to be a thing -in fandom- at all. Which obviously means not having misogyny in society... but it just seems strange that it is so prevalent in fandom when really it shouldn't be. And it would be good if that were different? I know that it's because of misogyny in society as a whole, but I was just referring to it occurring in fandom as an isolated situation. Or something. Wow this doesn't make sense. nevermind
