Do you remember awhile back that anon that said they keep a spreadsheet of all the info people put up here? Yeah. Been thinking about that anon a lot and reevaluating what I share.

I just typed out all the rl details I can remember sharing on here and it's almost two pages long and a lot of it is unusual. I talk about myself a lot here. One might think I believe I am my own fandom.

I couldn't be bothered doing that re F!S, but I have a general fascination with compiling data and drawing conclusions from it (I've done it professionally too), so maybe that's part of why you do it?

I'm careful about which online presences link to which, but I have figured out that if anyone was a truly dedicated stalker compiling everything I posted, they would have found me by now. (Small city, regular haunts, distinctive hair colour.) They don't seem to have and I don't think I'm that fascinating. Maybe I'd be more nervous if I lived in a big city in the USA.

Australia doesn't have public reverse phone search databases. Reverse phone search is dead useful once you've enough info on somebody.

Creepy!

Yeah, I don't think anyone would from a remote location be able to figure out where I live, but if they were to wait in the places I sometimes mention I like to go, they'd spot me and my fluoro hair eventually. But because I live in the arse end of nowhere where not a lot of people hang out online, that's unlikely.

IDK, there are some people who really don't care about people knowing stuff about them, even advertising their GPS home location on twitter. They're usually privileged men, unsurprisingly, or occasionally powerful business women.

Now I feel less ridiculous for having thought of it in the first place, but more paranoid. Granted, no one probably cares that much about my identity, but that's creepy...

It's so that I don't get people mixed up and, like, ask Insanenoodleyguy how his fabulous gay sex life is (is appropriate question for oooh_mrdarcy, not noodleguy). I've had a terrible memory for screen names for ages, and frankly, I like not looking like an idiot when I'm talking to people.

You have a non-creepy reasoning for doing it though, and what you and anonymouslyyours describe isn't the sort of thing I was imagining. You're good! ~~Not that you need my approval of course, but I didn't want you to think I saw you as creepy. ...Going to stop talking now.~~

I wasn't the demographics Anon but I put up a few charts of F!S comments numbers pre and post move to DW.

For friends I can understand though. Like, I'm too lazy for that and if I don't know or have forgotten something I'll just ask about it, but wanting to remember things like what fandoms your friends are into (and what pairings they ship) or their birthdays (so you can wish them happy birthday) is okay. And if it's like oroburos mentioned, that's isn't weird; I understand that reasoning.

I guess I was imagining something worse or more evasive? lol, idk. Writing down every bit of personal information (where this person lives, what's their favorite food, have they mentioned a significant other or any family) would be creepy, but yea, what you mentioned is pretty tame.

Not sure. It was a whole thread of a discussion though, with people asking what kind of info spreadsheet!Anon had and what they kept track of and why. Would you have carried the joke beyond one comment?

In all honesty I didn't get a creepy vibe from spreadsheet!Anon. It was more like they had trouble remembering things and who was who and so started to keep track to help them and then it just went from there. But definitely makes me think thrice about sharing info.
