I'm so sorry, anon.

And I understand. I wouldn't say my little sister has bipolar disorder (it wouldn't quite surprise me if she got diagnosed one day--our mother has it, and my sister is a very extreme, often unhappy sort of person), but she is very difficult and lashes out, especially with her family. The scene where Thor asks Loki to "come home" and the way his voice broke when he said it about reduced me to tears in the theater, because I've been there, that moment when you love someone and they're hurting themselves and you and your family, and you don't know whether to hug them or shake them or hit them or just hold on and beg that they stop... I thought Hemsworth did that expression pretty spot-on.

Honestly, it makes the new baby!Loki stuff resonate pretty hard with me too (I have no idea how that's been turning out, though according to tumblr--sadly). The idea of somehow bringing your sibling back to an age Before Everything Went Wrong is a pretty powerful one.

Anyway. I'm really sorry you had to go through that, and I'm sorry you miss your sister. I hope, in some way, the movie is cathartic for you. Jedi hugs.
