Re: spiders in my place
Ooh! we have toads living in our fishpond in the front garden! We even have a small colony at the local prayer centre that lives by burrowing under the trees!
As for the moths, they're Atlas Moths :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_moth . They usually come after the monsoon season when everything is growing. I usually spot them fluttering and resting all over the school and one of them even rested on my hand!
I hope you'll be lucky and see one soon! :D
(note; our school, despite being four stories tall and made out of concrete is pretty much open to the elements. Walled corridors? What are walled corridors?)
Re: spiders in my place
Introduced cane toads occasionally make their way into the house, which is not good, because they're poisonous and they like the pets' water bowls (which poisons them). Luckily fairly rare.
IDK schools here seem pretty open to the elements too, compared to temperate climes. Perhaps the theory is that the air flow makes things cooler, except that doesn't work so well in the monsoon.
Oh my *flails* I LOVE Atlas moths. They aren't in Australia, sadly. (We do have giant stick insects though.) Here is a picture of an Atlas moth on my hand (I met it at a butterfly farm in Indonesia):
