I have noises in the ceiling too! They sound pretty big for rats I have to say, but I have seen some pretty big rats. I put the cat in the ceiling every now and again, and that seems to keep them quiet. And the geckos seem to keep the bugs down in the house.

Introduced cane toads occasionally make their way into the house, which is not good, because they're poisonous and they like the pets' water bowls (which poisons them). Luckily fairly rare.

IDK schools here seem pretty open to the elements too, compared to temperate climes. Perhaps the theory is that the air flow makes things cooler, except that doesn't work so well in the monsoon.

Oh my *flails* I LOVE Atlas moths. They aren't in Australia, sadly. (We do have giant stick insects though.) Here is a picture of an Atlas moth on my hand (I met it at a butterfly farm in Indonesia):

Omg I can handle all the spider pictures upthread but that atlas moth made me hyperventilate for half a minute or so. D:

*deep breaths* *adblock* Yes that is a gorgeous moth and I wish I could appreciate it! D:
