(Anonymous) 2012-09-26 05:39 am (UTC)(link)The problem is that as a small country we don't have much ways to import and localize entertainment by ourselves. For japanese, signing papers is apparently so costly operation that they're interested mostly in big audiences, and are hesitant with new business partners, that's what I've heard anyway.
Especially games tend to arrive to Europe through USA, which means there's often only dub available. This irritates people, since dubs may be part of american experience and otaku culture, but not ours. This may affect even sale numbers. Most rants happen in local forums though, and internationally we try to be more polite about it. Of course just getting jrpgs here is a huge progress. But it remains as a frustrating situation.
