(Anonymous) 2012-09-26 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)Scott is a) dumb; b) in a ridiculously boring established relationship with a really unlikable character that is constantly in the centre of his attention, anyone who wants to write about Scott has to write about Allison as well, and not everyone wants to do that; c) rather boring; and d) did I mention dumb? because he's dumb, and I mean it in a nice way, because he IS adorable, but also really, really dumb.
Danny is a minor character that got very little characterization and who hardly interacts with anyone cause he's mostly in the background somewhere. The fact that he's gay is really not enough to make him an interesting character.
TW writers choose to write about That One Slash Pairing because they're both popular characters who have a lot of chemistry, there's no need to make up characterization because they're both fleshed out and they're both important to the main plot of the show, so writers don't have to spend thousands of words bringing them in, like they'd have to do with Danny for example.
