NGL, I'm a little embarrassed for you. I know you mean well, but what you're doing feels kind of patronizing.

Maybe you should get rid of your disclaimer and disassociate your Tumblr ID from anything that would identify you as one race or another?

Idk. Maintaining the artificial pretense of a raceless internet feels somewhat less icky than the idea of a white person helping POC do things they're already doing (like being involved in the communities you messaged), especially when the subject is anime and fantasy races.

Same here, I'm POC. I gave the OP the benefit of the doubt upon reading her secret, but seeing how they acted in the comments they do have a very obnoxious white-splainy feel to them.

Sorry, I don't mean to over-explain. I'm not entirely familiar with the notion of explaining my intentions in a whiter way than anybody else, but I guess it's what I'm used to... heh. For what it's worth, I know I've been exceptionally humourless here, but I've been genuinely shaken by the response here to what's an extremely well-intentioned and thoroughly researched blog, especially as I hadn't particularly meant to draw attention or scrutiny with my F!S post (it was a vent kind of thing when I was feeling paranoid about why I hadn't had a response). Still, I did think that, perhaps naively, writing something that people were asking for wouldn't be considered patronising solely because of the colour of my skin. And I do think that the assumption that it would neccessarily be patronizing is a bit racist. I might be in a cultural majority, but it's still racist to assume I'll be one way or another just because of the colour of my skin.
