I'm not familiar with this work but I fond it disturbing when people equate incest with love. I was victimized by my brother for years and it took me a very long time to understand that incest is about power/control and not love. It has some very confused messages because we often equate sex with love.

Perhaps this story portrays the two involved as being a couple. That is the exception, by and large, and not the rule but okay. The fiction can have what it wants. Reality is quite a different matter in my experience and in my studies on the subject. I can't really see incest as "transcending" anything.

Koi Kaze is...really messed up, IMHO. She's fifteen for one and he's late twenties. She goes to stay with him and his father...and he ends up wanting to be with her. The part where they first have sex and he blurts out the thing about getting condoms makes my skin crawl.

In general, rape, sexual assault, molestation, etc. can't be equated with love. It's true that incest between siblings who were raised together is usually molestation, and I'm sorry that it happened to you, but the case in Koi Kaze is of siblings who fell in love after being raised apart, so I don't think it's comparable.

I've not read Koi Kaze, so I'm probably not qualified to judge their portrayal of incest. At the same time, I'm not entirely sure the relationship of Florence and Winston in Freefall has quite the same issues (though Freefall compensates for that with a whole other bucket of issues, like Florence's legal lack of rights).

No comment on the bestiality but what's wrong about incest really? To me the comment arguments against it sound like the same bullshit homosexuals have to listen to. If both parties are consenting adults, why should we care what they're doing? Provided that they're responsible people and don't make babies out of it?

Real murky ground there, and just huge risks of abuse (anything parent child, or sibling with age gaps will almost exclusively be this).

If it's a hot cousin or whatever, yeah the arguments are mostly bullshit even if they are having kids. Though I imagine any breakup would just be the most awkward as fuck thing.

I'm going to reply with exactly the same thing that's been said a hundred times before:

In the situation you just described, nothing is wrong there. But incest is so rarely between two consenting adults, because of the power imbalance inherent in many close familial relationships.

Parent/child --> parents of course have the power in that situation, so consent will almost always be an issue.
Siblings --> if one of them is significantly older, the same ethical issues crop up.

Because one is a type of relationship that is often unbalanced and unhealthy and the other is about...humanoid wolves making out with a human while a robot watches? People don't have as much problems with strange dynamics as long as it's obvious they're fantasy.

But if you're condoning real-life bestiality I'd have to throw up in your general direction.

if you really can't tell the difference between a relationship between two consenting adults who aren't the same species in what is obviously a fantasy setting (haven't actually read this comic but that seems like what's going on here)

and an incestuous relationship, which is a thing that exists in real life and actually hurts people and is not always but VERY often connected to disgusting real-life practices like abuse, child-grooming, etc
