It's ASoIAF. Being emotionally invested in anyone or anything will lead to grief. Really, you haven't figured that out by now?

(Anonymous) 2012-09-29 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, but the grief is itself intoxicating. It's twisted, man.

Taking that other secret into consideration, maybe when I write an essay about the Westeros fandom I'll title it 50 Shades of Grief.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-29 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I fully support you in this endeavor.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-29 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
That's half the fun.

I made a terrible mistake when I fell in love with Catelyn Stark.

NEVER GETTING OVER IT.

Yeah, that one's gonna get worse before it gets better.

I fell in love with Catelyn Stark from watching the TV show. People have told me she's a bit different in the books, but it sounds like I'll still end up liking her in the books, too.

Unfortunately, I got spoiled and now I almost don't want to read the books because of what happens. Damn it, GRRM.

You should definitely read the books! Since Catelyn is a POV character, you get a lot of insight into her psyche and a lot of my favorite Catelyn Moments were cut from the TV show.

But also, it will break your heart, so.

It's okay, it happens.

I actually haven't felt that way about a couple in nearly ten years, and it saddens me. I miss that obsessive feeling, believe it or not. It was fun.

(Anonymous) 2012-09-29 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I feel that way too.

If there had been nothing about the pairing since the second book I would have given up hope but given how the characters (Sansa especially) constantly think about or reference one another I definitely think GRRM is setting something up.

What pairing is this? /hasn't watched the show because doesn't have HBO

(Anonymous) 2012-09-29 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Sandor and Sansa from Game of Thrones (or the books A Song of Ice and Fire).

OP here

I'm through the first part of ASOS so far, but I have the feeling that they're being set up to meet again at some point.

Really? You're not sure it's just your ship goggles? I never got that impression.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-01 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
Er...well...I have no problem with Sandor/Sansa, it's not really my cup of tea, but let's just say it's ASoIAF. It's unwise to develop attachments. I'm still not over Ned Stark.
