Pierce is old, they could have killed him off :P

But also Dan Harmon was a genius but also kind of a dick. Chevy may have been the last straw, but the firing had been a threat for a while.

Haha fair 'nuff. Although I think even though Pierce is a dick his death would be a really big thing for the show to go through. I don't know if the new showrunners would feel comfortable addressing that in only 13 episodes :P

Also I think Chevy wants to leave anyway but he's under contract.
