Then you must be awfully disappointed, because I've seen no wank whatsoever (and like it that way). I mostly check tumblr and a few LJ communities now and then, but most everyone seems to be okay with Cath, even if they don't ship Steve/Cath or aren't sure about her being a series regular.

I've never loved or hated her, but the bits we saw in the premiere made her very likable. I hope they keep giving her screen-time but don't focus heavily on her either; the writers couldn't keep up with the characters they had before they added Cath as a regular, and I don't want Kono or Chin to get even less screen-time as a result.

But...the relationships have been treated poorly. Danny's girlfriend has been in about three episodes for a grand total of five minutes, right? That's laughable. And Malia...poor, beautiful, sweet Malia...what they did with her was not cool. Adam is hot as hell but I'm not sold on his relationship with Kono, and Steve and Cath never seemed more than friends with benefits, so if the writers want to make that relationship seem serious, they have work to do.

I've seen plenty of hate for her, though that was back in the episode in the secret. Maybe people just haven't bothered to express their hate yet and will when season 3 starts?

The first episode of season three has aired in the US, and that's what I was referring to when I said I hadn't seen any hate. It's been pleasantly tame, and people seem to like her. I wasn't watching the show back when the episode in the secret aired, so idk how fandom reacted back then.

I could be wrong, but I get the feeling that there's a fair amount of "don't complain, it could be Lori" feeling going on where Cath is concerned. If that makes any sense.

For some reason when I read "Don't complain, it could be Lori" I thought of Walking Dead Lori... (lol.)

So as you can tell, 5-0 Lori didn't make much of an impression on me. Again, not that I hated her, but...I tend to forget she exists. Oops.

That could be the case! Hadn't thought of that before. I do know there are people in the fandom who legitimately like Cath and even ship Steve/Cath, but I don't doubt there are people who feel the way you described as well.

this is pretty much my feelings on the matter, i hated Lori with a passion (though not to the extent of some of the more extreme members of the fandom) but Cath has failed to annoy me even once in the first episode. I'm not hugely into Cath/Steve but its miles better then steve/lori.

that being said if they try to ramp up the relationship part of caths character rather then her usefulness to the team and take screen time away from kono or chin to do this I'm going to be very upset.
