I don't want to get into a huge argument about the whole thing because it's really not an axe I want to grind, but the tl;dr version is that they would have to be even more abstracted and stick-figurish to be even debatably aracial. Like XKCD-level abstracted. As it is, details like their hairstyles and eyeshapes, while moderately abstracted, are still clearly meant to imply something about how they "really" look; likewise the troll's grey skin is so far as we know, meant to be literally grey, so claiming that the blank white of the kids' faces is mean to represent any color while their hairstyles, etc., to say nothing of the trolls' skin color, are all signifiers for specific attributes seems too arbitrary to be plausible.

EDIT, JUST TO BE TOTALLY CLEAR: I am not a hater. I probably donated more to the kickstarter than you did. I have a song on the fan album. I just don't think the "aracial" claim holds up to much scrutiny.

And thanks! It makes my day whenever somebody says they like it. :-) It still blows my mind that more people have probably listened to that song than looked at or read or listened to anything else I've ever done in my whole life.

I read somewhere that because the trolls were clearly grey, it shouldn't necessarily be taken to mean that the humans are white. The reasoning being that we know what humans look like across the board, but the trolls are a new race that's been invented, so it needs to be easier to distinguish them and know what their features are that make them so different? Idk. It makes sense to me, though whether that was Hussie's intent is another thing.

Also that's cool that you have a song on the album! Imma go listen now. Edit: Wait hang on, no I'm not because I've already heard it. It's one of my favourites off that album! good job =D
