(side note: I see the whole thing as kind of silly to be territorial over something like SH, but understand the critique is fair, just seems to be over reacting too often. Also I'm a fan of seeing women( of color ) in lead roles, esp. when they don't rely on being romantic interests. I'm a fan of lucy liu's acting though.).

I haven't watched the new one, but I thought they were making Watson female to hook her up with Holmes. That seemed to be the direction they were heading, judging by the commercials.

Ah well, I won't watch the show, then I won't complain about it or make unfavorable comparisons.
