I like it too and, like many others, I was disappointed with Metroid: Other M when they gave Samus a voice. Yeah, I know she speaks in Metroid Fusion, that I didn't mind so much. But to have her narrating every single thing happening in the cutscenes even though we're SEEING most of what she's talking about - ugh!

And even though it's cartoon we all know how much of a joy it was for Link to have a voice. :P

Only game I really like where the protagonists talk are games where you're able to choose what they say or how you play the game affects how they talk. Like Shepard in ME or Harry Mason in Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

I loved all the talking in Other M, because you can switch between English/Japanese for Audio AND Subs, so you can learn a lot of Japanese from it. I think all the other Metroid games have E/J options, but most have virtually no dialog.
