Doesn't the 2009 Trek take place in an alternate universe (that's where the other Spock comes from, after all)? And if so, doesn't that mean all that stuff still happened?

Though to be fair they're probably correct that any future movies will more than likely always focus on the new version since that seems to be what's popular now. I'm rather annoyed that we'll probably never get a DS9 movie.

ds9 was great and it's my favorite star trek but it wrapped up so perfectly that a ds9 movie would probably be a desecration
