You don't slash Deadpool with Cable!

Slash implies it was never canon.

I..think I missed that one.

And does it imply that. I mean, I used to be a bit (okay, a lot) into the QAF fandom, and while all that was canon, the fic there was still labeled "slash".
brightblueink: The cast of the first season of Digimon. (Digimon)

Not Noodly, but I've heard it used to only mean uncanonical pairings in fanfic before. (Wiki notes the difference in meaning, too: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slash_fiction#Definition_and_ambiguity)

I think these days it usually just means pairings of two people of the same gender, though.

Yeah, that bothered me in QaF fandom, because it mostly wasn't slash, it was canon couples. Now, if someone wrote me Stockwell/Brian, that would be slash. :)

You know, I read this entire issue like Swierczynski was saying "oh shit, sorry, guys, I didn't read Cable & Deadpool before writing Messiah Wars (hence the OOC Cable/Deadpool interaction) so here's an apology, kay?"

superfamily must be killed with fire

As long as it's tagged so I can avoid it, I'm fine with its existence.
