Like hell we were. Several people asked -- almost begged -- him to give us a poll whether to stay on LJ or move to DW, and he point blank refused.

Maybe you're thinking about another, older poll...?

i'm saying, Technophile isn't obligated to take a poll of everyone and isn't obligated to do things the way you, specifically, want them done, and being a whiny child about it doesn't change anything

I voted on both polls. I was not doing smack at the time. they were real polls that happened!

Weird because I remember voting in a poll too. I know there were a lot of people complaining about the poll's answer options and wanted another poll which Tech did not give. Maybe that's the poll you didn't get to vote in but wanted?

There are plenty of other threads where people asked for a poll and he either ignored or bluntly said no, but I'm seriously not about to waste time digging through for those. The above link makes it clear enough; there was no poll.

And yeah, on that poll, the majority did not want to move. But the polls did happen. And then, the site got shittier and shittier, and then Case obviously didn't feel like he had a choice anymore. But you know what? It's his to do with as he wanted. The fact I supported the decision is irrelevant. The polls were a courtesy, and they were respected until the situation became untenable to the only voter that mattered.

Dude, you really need to calm down at this point, you're making yourself look like an idiot.

It does have something to do with the move since it was about...the move. The actual move might've happened much later, but it shows that Case did stick around for as long as they could before the situation got to be too bad.

And even if they never polled on it, ever, they are the one that does all of the work for the comm outside of actually making the secrets, so they had the right to move the community if they wanted to. If you really want F!S on LJ, run a version of it yourself or something.

Unless you'd rather just capslock at everyone and look angry and upset that people disagree with you.

I'll respond anyway, cause I'll get the last word or you'll be a hypocrite! You said there were no polls. You didn't say "i'm not counting the old poll" you referenced an old poll "about posting times", not about the move! Don't try to pretend you meant something else.

You are butthurt because you wanted this to be a democracy. You were right the first time: you don't matter. Nor do I, or anybody who's name isn't Case. But you are the only one being a big baby about it.

Also, as I said downthread, I hated and dreaded the move, but I loved the community and you guys more than I hated dreamwidth.

I voted in a poll, and "stay on LJ" won. I remember at the time there was drama because people were skewing the vote by using multiple accounts. (Which is probably why Case eventually refused to do a poll.)

Insanenoodlyguy already posted the links, but they are technically older. That was back in December or January I think? But then lj just kept getting worse for comment-type communities imo, and tech moved fs.

They are older. My point (now stated more reasonably) is more or less what you just said. The complaint implied that the wants of F!S were completely ignored or something and it just wasn't like that. We were polled, but then things got worse, and obviously at some point Case decided it was move or nothing. But it was more of a "I hear you guys, but now it's simply got to be done" as opposed to "fuck all y'all! Move time!"
