Terrible analogy, TITC 1

[personal profile] fingalsanteater 2012-10-03 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
The worst one yet.

The Hamburglar is our savior. By getting those fatty, high calorie burgers off the streets he is helping limit access to foods that contribute to a multitude of health issues. Compare to Walter, who is putting a product detrimental to our health ON the streets.

I hadn't thought of that angle for the Hamburglar. He's just trying to save us from ourselves. He's not a robber, he's a vigilante. He's really just misunderstood... this intrigues me.

He's the hero this city needs, not the one it deserves.

He is....THE DARK KNIGHT BURGLAR.

He used to be old friends with the clown. They ran together, a few years back, peddling their deep-fried shit to kids. Kids! And then one day, it happened - little Timmy Weathers OD'd right in front of him. Deadly combination of a super-sized fries and adding salt to the ketchup, and he was done for.

After that day, he donned the identity of the Hamburglar, trying to undo the wrongs he did in the past.

But first, he must kill the clown. Oh, Ronald tries to disguise his true face, with campaigns of "active living" and "healthy options," but deep down, he's the same old monster, just with a new coat of paint.

(Guys I'm like two paragraphs away from a full-blown fic, please stop me now.)

It would be a crime to stop you now. Especially when there is so much potential to make Ronald into a hybrid of Lex Luthor and the Joker. The clown make-up, massive company, and charity work hiding the reality of greed, corruption, and the fact that he's going to poison all non McD's food so that eating it causes Ronald Smiles to appear on the victims... somebody help me, I'm putting too much thought into this.

I always found Ronald creepy... and now I know the reason why.

Please continue!

That interpretation doesn't make sense. Within the McDonald's narrative, the Hamburglar's storyline is about stopping innocent restaurant goers from getting the food they love. It's abundantly clear that the Hamburglar doesn't care about anyone around him. He is stealing burgers for his own burger empire, even if that means stealing food from children.

Walter is terrible, but we shouldn't let our concerns about obesity blind us to the Hamburglar's villainy.

Are you F-ing kidding me!??!11(eleventy)!!

Are we watching the same 80's commercials? The Hamburglar is not a savior. He never got away with the hamburgers, he always got caught and those burgers were put back on the street. If he's a "vigilante" he sucks at it, since he can't even outsmart a clown and a purple blob.

Whereas Walt has managed to avoid getting caught for several seasons. Walt has managed to stay off the radar of the DEA, the Cartel and rival meth makers.
