Hmmm. I never cared much for TOS. TNG was my first intro (dude, I'm just turning 30, so y'know, age 'n stuff). Thought DS9 was boring until I got older (out of my teens) and totally adored VGR (Janeway was my favorite even if the writers sucked half the time. That's why fanfic exists). By the end of VGR I was convinced the writers were full of themselves (oh wait, they were) and therefore, I found the new reboot very satisfying in a "Giving Berman the finger" kind of way (and I liked it on it's own merit too).

I'm excited for the next one :D

Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

I agree with all of this except the Voyager part. Also, I love the even-numbered TOS movies and, IMO, they're the only Star Trek movies that need be spoken of, aside from the 2009 reboot.

I'm honestly surprised that so few old-school Trekkies love the new movie the way I do. But they've always been a crotchety lot, lbr.
