On the other hand, there's a song on her new album that sure seems to be about sleeping with female fans on tour and knowing her husband isn't that thrilled about it but he'll have to accept that's the way it's gotta be.

Let's hope it's just a songtext, if not he should leave her. Someone who doesn't care how uneasy their partner is with them sleeping around should be single. Then they can have all the fun with doing it without hurting their partner. Sexual freedom is one thing, but if you have a partner their feelings always need to be thought of and respected.

Well, all relationships have various compromises in them. Presumably they talked all this out before tying the knot, if he decided it was worth it that's his decision to make.

Of course it's his decision. Honestly, if i would know them somehow, i wouldn't even tell them the above, because clearly it's none of my business. i just don't know enough about them to know if they're happy or not, which is why i said that i hoped it was just a songtext. To me, the quote sounded too much "deal with it or else" and not enough consideration on her part. Like you said, compimises is the point of success in a realationship and the quote certainly didn't sound like that at all. if he can deal with that, ok.

Agreed. Additionally, poly is no excuse for cheating on your partner who isn't comfortable with it. I know a few people who are poly, who cheated on their partners after agreeing to being in a monogamous relationship where it was discussed and seemingly a mutually respected decision. Except well, apparently not hence the cheating.

It wasn't trolling. I have a serious problem with people who are incapable of understanding a sexual interest or relationship that is outside of what they themselves are interested in. I was trying to illustrate the absurdity and fuckery that, from my perspective, is involved in saying what the original anon did. And it was fueled by anger, I'm not gonna lie.

I don't get the outrage, though. I mean, celebrity gossip's annoying, but given that people do gossip about celebs, well... some that do are going to think "so and so isn't good for so-and-so."

So I'm not sure I'm seeing what's so awful. But that may be because I've always thought AFP seemed pretty full of herself, so I dunno.

I think they were just annoyed that the other anon is judgey of people's relationships.

Really? This seems pretty normal to me.

-For older dudes, an attractive (much) younger woman is a status symbol, but often not someone with whom they would have anything in common, so seeing her infrequently is probably not something he minds.

-For a younger woman with a budding career, his primary benefit to her as an established older man is his ability to promote her career, hence all the pimping of her materials by him.

-Dudes as old as Gaiman have a really hard time keeping up with the sexual drive of a much younger woman, hence polyamory to keep her satisfied.
