OP. The reasons I find her annoying -- that is, extreme arrogance coupled with stupidity and a crushing lack of self-awareness -- would be equally annoying if they were a gay male couple, if she were severely camera-shy and we had no idea what she looked like, or if she were a freaking brain in a jar. Also, I know his first marriage ended long before he met her; I also don't think that's my business. So, thanks for playing, I find the link interesting, but it's irrelevant here.

NAYRT Yeah, you say that, but in ALL your secret, every line, you do sound so tediously like every fangirl ever who has ever resented the girlfriend of the famous guy they like. The Yoko Ono effect.

I'm not remotely interested in Neil Gaiman as anything other than a clever author, and I basically had to completely stop unfollowing his Twitter/Tumblr/what-have-you because it was near constant AFP when I was experiencing it.

I've disliked AFP since one of my ex-best friends was obsessed with her (2005?), so I sort of see where OP is coming from.

For me, I don't think their marriage influenced his actual writing any, but it certainly made him a little more annoying on social media, and now I she's a bit more visible to me too, and I find her quite obnoxious. Definitely not like Yoko Ono "OMG SHE BROKE UP THA BEATLES" kind of resentment towards her. So I guess I'm trying to say is that I get OP's viewpoint, although I'm only slightly annoyed by them.
