Your complaints seemed legit until you were all "wtf marriage where they only see each other once a month?!" Then you lost me and I started to wonder if you're trolling.

Because seriously? Not all marriages are "conventional" if that's a word we can ever use for something that's changed so much during human civilization. Marriage used to be about property exchange. In the Victorian Age marrying for love was seen as foolish, young women married older men who were established in their careers, a young woman marrying a young man was seen as foolhardy. Divorce used to be unthinkable in "polite society." Gay marriage is still hotly contested in many areas of the world, and unthinkable elsewhere. An alarming number of people have affairs. Divorce is more common than ever. Some people have open marriages. Some people are swingers. Three people just got married in Brazil last month.

Also, consider people with spouses in the military. They don't even get the luxury of seeing each other once a month, a few times a year if they're lucky. Are those marriages just as puzzling to you as Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer's?

If the set-up works for Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer, who gives a fuck? They're happy, they're married, they aren't hurting anyone. Grow up.
