I hear that it finally started getting really good when it was canceled? IDK. I'm still working my way through SG-1 (I started with SGA), and I'm not sure I'll even want to watch. But there's always fic.

I totally understand not wanting to watch the last episode, though. Not only is it the end of a show you love, but the end of an entire franchise. It hurts to think about.

The first half of the first season is hard, but I appreciated the franchise enough that I forced myself through the entire first season and by the end, I loved it. It's definitely a different flavor from SG-1 and SGA, but if you can handle and/or like grittier anti-heroic types (and a very awesome Robert Carlyle), it's well worth the effort. I can respect that some people just didn't like it - it *is* different - but usually I see wank along the lines of, "It was the worst show evaahhhh" which makes me roll my eyes a little. Even I can respect something I don't like (there's a difference, for example, between hating a particular type of food versus saying that a chef sucks because they're cooking a food that you don't happen to like).

Anyway. I think it's worth a once through. :: shrugs ::

Robert Carlyle is amazing XD I saw the first episode (and the David Hewlett episode) and I enjoyed both well enough. Once I finish SG-1 I'll at least give it a try. Calling it the worst show ever is a bit much, and probably stems - at least partly - from the bitterness of SGA being canceled. I know TPTB pissed a lot of people off with their comments between SGA and SGU's end, which may also have contributed to the fan's hatred.

I'm really loving Robert Carlyle in Once Upon a Time. He's a villain, and he has unpleasant people around him - the evil queen even coerces someone into sex against his will - but the producers don't expect us to admire them for it, and I'm really grateful for that.

I've seen the first eight episodes of OUAT and I've really enjoyed it :D I keep meaning to watch more.
