I wouldn't object to them getting together. I stopped comparing this show to BBC Sherlock and all the other iterations about midway through the first episode, and I'm just enjoying it on it's own merits at the moment.

I think Joan and Sherlock have chemistry together -- actually I can see Sherlock being much more eager to court Joan than she him. I see her finding a conflict with the whole client relationship. She does, after all, work for his dad. If she ever goes off the dad's paycheck and Sherlock stops being a job and starts being a friend, then I can definitely imagine it. I can't see Sherlock himself giving a fuck about professional/personal conflicts, so he might get a bit impatient and annoyed at the delay.
