honestly, mostly the bit about the teeny bopper fandom made me lawl. I don't have the exact numbers at my fingertips - people of tumblr, I know you have them - but something like 60% of the viewers are 20+, and I think a decent percentage on top of that were 30+.

Is that viewers, or fandom? But you're right; I've known fans old enough to get a subscription to AARP who were responsible for perpetrating behavior far more wackadoo than starting petitions to make Sterek canon. Also everyone suffers once the echo chamber effect comes into play -- once everyone in fandom is saying it, it amplifies.
