I loved Avatar too. There was also a lot of dislike in the disability community over Jake Sully's attitude towards his disability but I emphasized a lot with how much difficulty he was having coming to terms over how his life had changed; I was diagnosed with my disability in 04 and still have similar feelings. (Although the "MAGICALLY CURED" thing, yeah...)

Buuut, that is why I like the How to be a fan of problematic things essay.

Cause, seriously, if we couldn't like anything anything that had problematic elements......
