I kinda wonder that too. You get a shit ton of this stuff in KPop fandom; and a lot of the shipper squee is typical slasher stuff, "AWWWW yeah, that is awesome fanservice, they are totally doing it!"

...and then you have lots and lots of people who seem to...genuinely believe it. The kind of people who have to comment on every video with one of the people, "Oh, X is so missing Y, you can tell by the way he adjusts his collar!" or "lol, it was so sweet of him to get a boner when that lady gave him a lap dance, he's so dedicated to covering his romance with Y!"
