Is your icon a hint? Because I thought the Dragon Age fandom was so much fun once, but after so many SJW-related wanks and ship-wars, it lost its drive in my eyes.

Not really, just the icon that happened to match my feelings about my main fandoms not having kink memes. I haven't been on the Dragon Age kink meme for a while--sad to hear it's had a lot of wank. I mostly just got bored of all of the Anders/Fenris stuff.

Yeah. That's one of the things that generated a lot of wank, actually. It's actually fairly quiet now, save for some of the incredibly long-running fic that are still being written.

It's strange, right? I feel like there is much more Fenris/FemHawke than Fenris/mHawke, but more mHawke/Anders than FemHawke/Anders.

My first playthrough was Anders/FemHawke. No idea why MHawke is more popular with him (other than...well, the popularity of slash in fandom). I once had a friend of a friend rant about how fangirls told her that Anders/MHawke was canon and everything else wasn't canon but I'm assuming that's a minority since I'd like to think that most people realize there's no such thing as a "canon" playthrough in Bioware games besides the one you choose to be canon...

Well, I had someone tell me that m!Hawke/Anders is more valid than fem!Hawke/Anders because only m!Hawke gets to know that Karl was Anders's first, and he keeps that bit of information from fem!Hawke, so it's not ~true love and therefore totally invalid. (Which is bullshit anyway, because I played as fem!Hawke and during that scene with Karl I knew there was more to their relationship than it seemed. It didn't need to be spelled out for me.)

Ahaha, what? Okay. That's...weird logic that fangirl told you. You could argue he doesn't bring it up to Lady Hawke because he doesn't think it's relevant. But really it's just so that they don't have to freak out people who are trying to avoid same-sex romance content, although that was sort of invalidated by the fact that Anders will sometimes hit on Hawke without being prompted so...good job, Gaider?

Okay so while I haven't read as much DA2 fanfic (I like the DA1 story better tbh) the impression I had gotten was that FemHawke/Anders was one of the major ships... o.O

Granted, it's all... pretty dead now. Hopefully it will revive when they release DA3 (and hopefully that is not an epic disaster).
