Oooh, you're thinking his appeal is supposed to be about sexy? That's why you're so confused! His appeal is personality. And appeal =/= turn-on.

They're all pretty great characters. Including Rossi! How can you not like Rossi? He's an integral part of the team's dynamic in that "gruff, dickish, older dude" role. Also, Joe Mantegna is a really good actor. Most of the Rossi-centric stories are pretty bad, I'll grant you. But he adds a lot to the show. Probably my third-favorite character.

What's your beef with him?

I honestly cannot tell if it's the actor or the character. Probably some combo of both. He just annoys me. He's an ass most of the time and unapologetic and full of himself. And I don't think "gruff, dickish, older dude" is a role that is necessary or integral. I get that a lot of people like him, but he's just not my taste.

I feel like clarifying - this isn't a secret because I like the show. It's a secret because I feel slightly stalkerish for how I first got into watching the show. Just because a friend is friends with an actor I go and read all about him and started watching his work. It just makes me feel a bit skeevy.

I'm crazy obsessed with the show but tbh I can't stand Rossi either lol. It could be partly due to my love for Gideon I guess, but I think it's just his personality/character background.
