They're all pretty great characters. Including Rossi! How can you not like Rossi? He's an integral part of the team's dynamic in that "gruff, dickish, older dude" role. Also, Joe Mantegna is a really good actor. Most of the Rossi-centric stories are pretty bad, I'll grant you. But he adds a lot to the show. Probably my third-favorite character.

What's your beef with him?

I honestly cannot tell if it's the actor or the character. Probably some combo of both. He just annoys me. He's an ass most of the time and unapologetic and full of himself. And I don't think "gruff, dickish, older dude" is a role that is necessary or integral. I get that a lot of people like him, but he's just not my taste.

New anon. I agree with what you said. I just can't stand Rossi. I loved Gideon though.

He (and Hotch) took awhile for me to like them (though now I love both), so I know what you mean.
