most people on the internet actually have massive issues with themselves/their body/intimacy/relationships

Fixed that for you

(Anonymous) 2012-10-08 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, you're right. the rising popularity of id'ing as asexual just gives people an excuse for their issues instead of having to face them. plus they get to wank about how they're totally queer.

Everyone was screaming and crying about how bisexuals were fakes and liars and snowflakes full of issues 5 years ago. It will pass, grasshopper. And the people screaming and crying about asexuality now will look just as dumb 5 years later, as people who screamed that bisexuality is fake do now.

lol oh please. bisexuals never felt the need to create 247235623798456192847921 new super special snowflake labels to justify the fact that they hate themselves too much to try for an actual relationship but still want to wank to hot celebrities.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-08 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, but people sure felt like they did. :) And how dumb do they look now?

(Anonymous) 2012-10-08 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
if people felt like they did, that's their problem. internet asexuals actually do it.

I'd put a logical argument here, but at this point I think you're just trolling.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-10-08 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
yes because no asexual has been in a relationship ever

try harder

why is not wanting a relationship automatically = hating yourself to people like you? I'd think wanting a relationship too much is much more of an indicator of a problem. If you can't find your own happiness outside of fucking there's a problem.

What if I don't want a relationship but it's not because I hate myself, it's because I hate everyone else and am too good for anyone? ;)

*eyeroll* does anyone else read people like the anons above as insufferably prattish dickheads that think making gross insensetive generalizations about large groups of people somehow makes them edgy and smart and not insufferably prattish dickheads?

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-10-08 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
it's an obvious attempt to drudge up wank.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-10-08 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Trying to be edgy is an actual motivation?

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-10-08 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
does anyone else read people like internet asexuals as insufferably special snowflakes that are desperate to be "queer" for sj points?

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-10-08 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
no

Is it so hard to believe that a larger percentage of the population is asexual than you might think, and the internet finally gives us a chance to find others like this, and confidence about it, and the courage to speak up and say "Hey, me too, actually," rather than going mum and never piping up when the conversation turns to the topic of sex?

- an asexual who never had to chance to speak to another before the internet, and yes, I have been diagnosed as asexual by a sex therapist, this is not snowflake-ism, there is legitimacy on the webs as well as frippery.

There's even been textbooks written about and with asexuality in them.

idk why it's so hard for people to accept

or maybe some people just don't want to have sex.

i know this might be hard for you to comprehend, but not everyone is like you.
