OMG so much this. I can't count the number of times in a day I wished my family and friends shared my interests and would shut up about "the important things in life" like marriage and children and home renovation and mortgages and talk about SciFi and fantasy instead.

I'd take home renovation and mortgages over my parents constantly telling me about their bladder and bowel problems. Boundaries people.
