Sometimes I get sad about aging, too. Here's a thought that helps me, Secret Poster, and I hope it helps you, too- you may be getting older, but the fandom is aging right along with you. When I'm 65, the Harry Potter/Pokemon/Gaia Online/BJD/Ranma fic writers, artists, and RPers will be in their 60's as well. And so will my favorite youtubers like Icecoldbath, Two Best Friends Play, and even the Nostalgia Critic, Nostalgia Chick, and Yahtzee will have lovely age lines from all the smiling and laughing of their many years.

When I think of it that way, it's kinda fun to imagine how they'll all age and will probably make jokes about it. I look forward to hearing Matt and Pat (TBFP) bitching about "damn babbys".

P.S: to all the 25+ Year Old Fans of ANYTHING

I just want you to know that I deeply appreciate each and every one of you. Even if I'm not in your fandom, even if we never met. The over 25's in fandom that I've met have been consistently wonderful to me, spoken to me, given me advice, and taught me life lessons that I couldn't get from my real life experiences, the most important one being "just roll with it and let it go; it's not that serious and whatever you're freaking out about will seem like super trivial BS in five years."

Every time you post about your lives, I feel a little less afraid of getting older because you show me that I don't have to turn into the cardboard-stiff adults I sometimes encounter off the net.

To poorly misquote V from Vendetta, I don't know who you are, but I love you so very much.

hahahaha good! That's because we have successfully made it this long being huge nerds so we're pretty much bulletproof.

I kind of enjoy being an old fogey in fandom sometimes because every now and then I meet a younger fan who is interested in my oh so worldly~ knowledge.
