I know you are trolling (and doing a decent job, I might add, since I can't keep away despite my awareness), but I've got to get a little pedantic.

It's not that Nana Visitor didn't want to do it, but that she felt it was out of character for Kira. I absolutely agree. I think it would have taken some unfortunate character modifying to make Kira accepting Dukat's romantic advances seem remotely plausible. Sure, she can work with him when need be, but that doesn't mean she would ever entertain the thought of being romantically involved with him. Another Cardassian? Maybe. But never Dukat.

Some people actually like that pairing. Expressing an opinion that you find distasteful =/= trolling.

Expressing an unpopular opinion is one thing. Expressing an unpopular opinion and purposefully missing the point is grounds for calling troll. The point: OP is stating that it is Visitor's fault that the Kira/Dukat romance never came to fruition. True. However, OP slides in the implication that she just didn't want to do it because. Not true. She didn't want to do it because she felt it was out of character and bad writing. If OP had rephrased to indicate they knew that Visitor said no for legit, character driven reasons, then I wouldn't have called troll.

Not to mention that Dukat secrets on F!S are usually submitted by trolls.

It is possible the OP didn't know why she'd said no, or didn't feel like it *was* a legit reason. That does happen sometimes, or it's possible they're one of the people who feels like an actor shouldn't have that big of a call when it comes to the plots/writing side of the show. -shrugs-

I respectfully don't see this as trolling, unless you're mincing words about Nana Visitor and her intentions, something I don't usually see trolls doing? Plus I know and have spoken to people in real life who feel this way. I know people in real life who are Dukat stans and yeah, maybe they harbor some resentment at the actress for possibly or not possibly or even reportedly getting in the way of their 'ship or a possible happy ending for their favorite character (him).

Personally I think a relationship between them would have sucked because he was batshit. Hatesex could be hot.

Thanks for bringing up the probability that this is as troll secret. I honestly hadn't considered it until now and was genuinely upset.

My personal take that comes from having just finished watching DS9: I can without hesitation state that I think Dukat is genuinely depraved and unable to have a meaningful, mutual romance with ANY sentient being.

I'm so glad Nana Visitor said it would have been OOC for Kira, but frankly, it would have been just as OOC for Dukat.

He seems to have been fairly good at convincing himself -- and occasionally other people -- he was in love (e.g. Meru).

The key words here are convince and mutual. I think he loves the creepy headgames he plays with everyone that try to get them to think they love him for oppressing them.

I think by the end he gets trapped in his own craziness.

Oh, totally. Dukat is absolutely sure he's a hero and everyone should love him. He's so very, very wrong.

I did. He was always a manipulative, abusive, bastard, and Kira saw through him. The fact that he'd convinced himself he was a good guy doesn't change my opinion that even if there were moments where she thought he might not be that bad or found him briefly likable, I think Visitor was right - it would have been massively out of character for her to fall for him. The only times Kira seems at all comfortable with Dukat is when he's not being 'romantic'.
