I think above anon was being facetious (I hope) but ... yeah. I can see how Japanese people can definitely be victims of racism in Western countries and that shouldn't be denied, but in Japan? Privileged as fuck, and racist as fuck. Living in Japan, I notice more offensive shit (advertisements with people in blackface, dressed like Native Americans, etc.), maybe because there's so few minorities to speak out against that but yeah. And yes, even white people can have a shit time in Japan - I have personally been kicked out of restaurants for not being Japanese, and also denied housing. SJWs who insist POC can't be racist have likely never been to Japan, just saying.

It's the same thing with most east asian counties imo. I went to South Korea for a school exchange and got plenty of shit for being black. One girl literally tried to get as far away from me as possible.

That being said, no shit Asians are racist. They hate everyone and eachother. Hell, I'm Korean and other Koreans don't like me because I was born in the US. But most of the people who are faced with racism in Asia are other Asians, so white people up in this thread can STFU.

Racism in Asia=/=racism in the US. Not saying one is bad and the other isn't. But like I said, the brunt of racist tendencies is taken up by other Asians. Not westerners.

Yeah, white people can complain (or in this case, non-Asians since we're talking about racism in Japan). But no westerner is actually oppressed in Japan. Discriminated against, definetly. But really, the few westerners who live in Asia deal with what most expats deal with in foriegn countries.

um, fuck you, because I doubt you have lived in Japan for an extended period of time. Non-Japanese, including whites, ARE oppressed.

Yes, they deal with what most expats do in foreign countries. And that's... not okay. People who move to another country are general treated like shit by people who were born there, and that is a bad thing that we need to try to stop, regardless of the POC or non-POC status of any particular groups involved.

Clearly the best solution to racism is to accept all forms of discrimination because some groups have it worse on average. Trying to do something to alleviate all forms of discrimination would be silly.

Just because one group gets treated like shit for no reason a lot of the time doesn't mean that it's okay to treat another group like shit for no reason a little bit of the time.

Honestly, this argument reminds me of MRAs who believe that men are the oppressed group and want to bring women down to their level (although men are actually the privileged ones,) rather than elevating the status of everyone in society to a higher and equal level.

Really not trying to start wank here, I'm actually rather shocked. Where do you live that you're kicked out of a restaurant so often? Apparantly i am privilegued, because shit like that doesn't happen where i live, regardless of race. I knew lots of people have it really hard, but i honestly didn't know that still happened. Guess my eyes weren't as open as i had thought.

Happens in Japan on occasion. I lived there for a while and was either denied entrance due to not being Japanese or escorted out. Particularly fancy 'traditional' style restaurants that aren't catering to tourists.
