I've only seen the first 9 episodes of this... he didn't seem like bad guy did they make him bad? Are we just supposed to hate him because Dipper wants Wendy?

He was pretty terrible to Dipper in the 10th episode. He actually challenged a 12 year old to a fight (which led to Dipper trying to get a video game character to beat up Robbie) and only backed out of it at the last second after Dipper finally told him to just beat him up and get it over with. After that, they come to a reluctant truce.

The episode was actually pretty hilarious though. Rumble McSkirmish cracked me the hell up

But Dipper kept provoking him, he also broke his cellphone. Robbie is a jerk but I don't think he's as big a jerk as the show wants him to be. I think it's just "lol Dipper wants Wendy so hate the guy who is in her age group and she herself chose to date!)

In fairness, breaking the phone was accidental and Dipper immediately offered to pay for it but Robbie instead decided to threaten him with violence (and seriously, why would a 15/16 year old challenge a 12 year old to a fight? Especially one that's half their size? Jesus)

I agree that aside from that Robbie hasn't been that bad though

I don't know. I was punched in the eye by a sixteen year old (guy) when I was thirteen, for brushing against his coat by accident. (I'm a girl)

Robbie continued to act bitter over Dipper's accidental insults when they first met and he behaved like a typical teenage jerk. I think the real reason he challenged Dipper to a "fight" in episode 10 was because Dipper busted Robbie's phone, not because they both like Wendy.

Robbie's an asshole but I don't think he's that big of an asshole. If he was, he would have went ahead and punched Dipper when he had the chance.
