Sometimes it's difficult to find even a mediocre writer in some fandoms, even more so depending on which characters or scenarios or ships you want to read about. So even if you feel your writing isn't great it still may be better than most in your fandom.

Though I think you should just go with what the first commenter said, it's probably more accurate. :)
