Honestly, I find superhero comic books to be the epitome of what I dislike in graphic novels: lots of fights that ultimately mean nothing, plots that make little rational sense and proceed at the pace of mollasses, art that takes grotesque to a whole new level, and the character development is either incredibly shallow or over the top profound with little in between. I used to love collecting comic books, but I avoided Marvel and DC because sooooo not my cup of tea.

However, for the most part I love the movies. They are too short to get lost in pointless meanderings, obviously live action negates the whole unfortunate art style, the fights actually forward the plot and don't linger to the point of tediousness. Honestly, with all the things I hate removed, I rather love superheroes.

So yay movies. Boo comics. I'm sure fandom would hate me.
