Disappearing scars don't usually bother me on TV shows or movies, but for some reason Beckett's chest scar on "Castle" annoys the living daylights out of me. She got shot in the chest. She was operated on, and if I remember correctly the bullet was really close to her heart. It was not by any means a small thing, but her scar is the exact shape and size of the bullet. In one of the most recent episodes it looked more like a hickey than anything. I just... I don't know why it bothers me that it's not bigger but it does!


Really sorry for the rant guys. Would a pun be in bad taste if I said I just had to get it off my chest?

I feel like that happens really often in medical dramas, where a character will have an operation involving opening up their chest but then they'll have shirtless scenes in future episodes/seasons and they'll be completely smooth. That's really not a scar that heals completely.

I remember seeing this in an anime, where the fact that the girl had had a heart operation was a PLOT POINT. As someone who's had a few heart operations--and several scars from related tubes, etc.--it really bugged me.
