And on-topic, I didn't get any kind of emotional punch when it came to the Ponds' departure, either. Doctor Who has kind of failed to deliver the same kind of emotions it used to, ever since Moffat took over. So it didn't surprise me that the departure was "meh."
Not holding much faith that the new companion will change the way the show feels, either.

(Anonymous) 2012-10-13 04:27 am (UTC)(link)I was a bit sad at the end of the episode, and even then, all kind of emotion is just not there in retrospective. Nothing like crying as in the four first seasons of New Who, when I used to cry about once every two episode. My general feeling toward Doctor Who is mostly apathy now.
At this point, I'm more or less just watching so I won't have anything to catch up on when Moffat finally leaves.
