I'm with you about Moffat failing to deliver the same kind of emotions the show used to.

I was a bit sad at the end of the episode, and even then, all kind of emotion is just not there in retrospective. Nothing like crying as in the four first seasons of New Who, when I used to cry about once every two episode. My general feeling toward Doctor Who is mostly apathy now.

At this point, I'm more or less just watching so I won't have anything to catch up on when Moffat finally leaves.

Yep, this. Amy didn't resonate with me the way Martha, Donna, and even Rose did. She came across as a whiny, petulant, spoiled brat who spent 90% of her time being cruel and selfish, and the remaining 10% simpering after the Doctor/Rory. Slapping someone across the face and then claiming it's okay because "[you're] Scottish"? NO. Not to mention the River Song thing... Blech. Tried rewatching the Amy episodes, and got to the one after "Let's Kill Hitler" and just couldn't continue. Awful on every level.
