I'd much rather see Danny get an on-screen love interest with some lines. It would be awesome if Stiles did turn out to be bi and we got more queer characters on the show, but why not give the character that's out in canon as gay a relationship first? Also, it would be nice if they didn't go the queer baiting route. Overall, the show has been pretty damn good with portrayals of sexuality thus far, and I'd hate to see it lose that.

I do have to say I appreciate that OP knows that it would be pretty OOC for it to happen as things stand, though. A lot of Sterek shippers seem to be conflating fanon with canon. I got into TW fandom through Sterek, but the way it's portrayed in a large portion of fic is not at all how things have played out on the show. Which is kind of sad, because Derek and Stiles do have a really interesting dynamic on the show, but it's not as perfect and fluffy as a lot of people like to portray it. They're reluctant sometimes allies at best and pretty antagonistic towards one another.
