It depends on what you're looking for. A general indicator that you are healthy? Because a lot of stuff out there doesn't actually use weight in their determinations of whether you are at risk. There are waist-to-hip ratios, there's the BAI (Body Adiposity Index) which has to do with height and hip circumference, plain old waist size, body fat percentage, etc. Maybe you could use the BMI as a general guide of weight range - something to tell you if you are severely underweight or severely overweight - and then use other methods to check to make sure you don't have too much body fat.

Thanks for the input, but I'm leery of BAI as much as I am of BMI. Again, this kind of formula only works for people who are of average build/height, I'm guessing. It doesn't take into account peoples' frame sizes, which is a huge factor in circumference measurements.
