It's just a nasty place. I only go to check up on Hobbit news (which stays largely full of squee, and no wank).

Ontd regulars are bitter, empty people. Best to leave them be.

Hobbit posts are only wank-free at the moment because Martin Freeman has done almost no press. Give it time.

That Daily Mail article about Freeman has been proven to be complete BS, but I'm guessing ONTD will continue to hate him.

It was incoherent tabloid trash, but that's not going to stop ONTD from spewing unfounded hatred at him. He has said almost nothing so far and people are already bitching about how he's such an asshole and is ruining their enjoyment. It will be open season once he actually starts doing press.

Posts about Martin Freeman are almost as hilarious as the ones about Cumberbatch. ONTD really hates him, since he isn't bending over backwards to apologize for being from an affluent family.

This is very true. It makes me angry though when I see what people say about him because he really does seem like a genuinely good person.

Those posts are often on the verge of becoming Martin Freeman hate-fests though, which isn't great if you're a fan of his.
