...I can't help but feel that this is about me even though I know that's irrational and silly.

I can definitely see why someone wouldn't ship this (although OP/OP's friend up there in the comments seems to have a COMPLETELY different interpretation than I do) - there's the way the ship took centre stage for all of S3 and basically killed all of the main characters' personalities, there's the whole 'oh girls can't be just friends with guys' nonsense, there's the Nice Guy (Girl?) overtones, and the way she seems to fetishize his powers (seriously girl, if you honestly think he's not special without them then DO NOT DATE HIM), but I still think they're adorable together even if I don't see it as the kind of relationship where they date all through college, get married and settle down with a white picket fence and a dog and have adorable half-ghost babies. It's okay to ship things you know wouldn't work in real life, or things that wouldn't necessarily go on forever. (Just like it's okay to date people you don't necessarily see yourself marrying.) And seriously, defriending people over shipping - especially if you don't know their reasoning - seems a little harsh.

Anyway. That's just my two cents.
