I get what you mean, most heartfelt friendships portrayed in media begins when the characters are in their teens or 20s, and even when the characters are in their 30s or 40s, the friendships they had was formed back when they were young. It's rare enough to see friendships that begin when the characters are late in life that when you see it in shows like Community, it makes you realize that it's never too late for real, meaningful friendships.
