It seems like OP pretty clearly stated that she was only talking about people who had the disposable income? i.e. if you can afford to buy >1 sbux beverage a week, you can afford to pony up 9 bucks for an album on iTunes that you listen to all the time.

Don't try to get in the way of somebody's "But what about MEEEEEE and MY SITUATION?!!!" blather. It never ends well. Just accept that they either have reading comprehension problems at best or are actively trolling at worst and move on. #KeysToHappiness

It was more of a self-deprecating comment but I didn't think the joke went over very well. I can barely afford the cheaper stuff (Tim Hortons in Canada), let alone Starbucks, and I've still been able to curtail my need to download every single song I'm interested in.

Still, I don't begrudge people too much from downloading music for free. Sometimes people would like to sample the albums first before buying into the whole thing, either in iTunes or in CDs. I always disliked the fact that I couldn't even return the CD if I decided I didn't like it. This was before iTunes though.

If you can't afford to buy Starbucks and do other fun things than CLEARLY this secret was not about you. I know,that's a big shock to accept, but hang in there. It'll get easier.
