*Can't* enjoy it? No. Enjoy it *more*? Hells yes.

Random example - Supernatural has a habit of bringing back guest characters from varying distances in the past. Sometimes this is 'spoiled' for me by either this characters presence in the previously-on, or I accidentally see the actor's name in the credits. And sometimes I manage to avoid both of those things.

In the former case, I know during the entire episode what's about to happen, and expect every smash cut to lead to the big reveal. By the time they finally show up, it's great, but there's no...fanfare, I suppose is the way to put it.

However, when I'm in the dark and they completely spring someone on me, to the extent it takes me five minutes to pick my jaw up off the floor, the payoff is much more amazing and memorable.

To the extent that it colors my feelings about the episode during subsequent viewings, by the way, even though at that point I obviously already know how it's going to end.
